Comprised of an ultra-high molecular weight silicone gum and C13-16 alkane (formerly C13-16 Isoparaffin)* (a naturally derived ingredient from sugarcane fermentation), this versatile product has a high spreadability and soft after-feel making it ideal for skin care, color cosmetics, and hair conditioning.
HARMONIE Silken gum blends deliver light and tactile textures with no unpleasant residue, helping to reduce the greasiness of organic sun filters or for lighter sunscreens with optimal spreadability.
The lightweight and non-tacky properties of HARMONIE Silken gum blends are beneficial for hair care solutions such as creams, lotions, serums, and conditioners which aim to tackle frizz and flyaway hair.
C13-16 Isoparaffin is a non-polar non-volatile emollient with a light and dry feel used here as a 100% derived natural vehicle for the ultra-high molecular weight silicone gum.
*In 2021 the INC (Int’l Nomenclature Committee) revised thenomenclature for the hydrocarbon ingredients previously designated by INCInames containing the term “isoparaffin” and “pareth”. The new approach willreplace the stem terms “isoparaffin” and “pareth” with “isoalkane” and “alketh”respectively, preceded by the appropriate carbon number designation. The INCInames previously identified as “Isoparaffin” and “Pareth” will be described bythe term “Formerly” in the monograph title. This approach will be maintained inpublication for an indefinite period of time to fully allow for transition tothe new terminology, e.g., on product labels and in product literature.
During this transition period, both the old terms “isoparaffin” and“pareth” and new terms “isoalkane” and “alketh” are considered as PCPCapproved. PCPC has been communicating with regulators in China regarding thename change, but unfortunately “isoalkane” and “alketh” are not yet listed inInventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients in China (IECIC). How to label theirproducts is a business decision by our customers.
